This is a memorial to the Swiss mercenaries guillotined at the Tuileries during th French revolution

There was a device here to enable you to photograph yourself in front of the memorial. 

What was especially fascinating was seeing how many inquisitive youngsters would peer in.

It might seem odd photographing a public convenience, but they not often as attractive as this

We particularly liked Lucerne. 

We enjoyed the painted buildings

and the squares

and the bridges

We rather liked the tower built into the wall
