2010 Around the Peloponnese In 2008 we crossed the northern part of Greece on our way to and from Turkey, but this is our first proper visit to Greece, spending 6 weeks or so travelling round the Peloponnese, with a couple of trips inland. As usual, all our pre-conceptions proved to be misconceptions - standards of driving were not at all bad (OK one or two exceptions!), smoking bans seemed to be well observed, there were no obvious signs of the financial crisis, and the Greeks were friendly and laid back to the point of being horizontal. There is only one autogas station on the Peloponnese (for refilling our Gaslow cylinders for cooking, heating and the fridge), conveniently placed in the centre of the island at Tripolis. This enabled us to "free camp" for two thirds of our visit, in some lovely locations. Comments and queries are welcomed.
