Sibiu, Aug 14th. Sibiu is the European City of
Culture in 2006, and a great deal of restoration is under way. When it
is complete it will be fabulous.

The Opera House, Timisoara. It was here that
the Romanian revolution began in Dec 1989, and where there were several
deaths. it did not take long to spread to the capital, Bucarest, and
Ceusescu was shot on Dec 25th 1989,

Eastern Orthodox cathedral. We came to
Timisoara. to see where the revolution started, but we did not expect it
to be such a lovely city.
